Nick Saban’s latest business venture is a luxury Ferrari dealership in the Music City.
The Alabama coach is part of the ownership group opening Prancing Horse of Nashville, a 43,400-square-foot showroom for the Italian sports car dealership, one of only 60 in the world.
Situated on a 14.33-acre site at 2320 Knights of Columbus Blvd., Prancing Horse is near the Nashville International Airport along Interstate 40.
Crain Construction built it on designs by Praxis 3 architects. It includes a two-level showroom, sales office, lounge area, cafè, and a service department with nine bays. The shop also services local Ferrari owners’ vehicles.
Christopher Miele, the dealership’s general manager, said Nashville is “long overdue” for Ferrari.
“There are cars that were getting registered here and there was no dealer to support them,” Miele said.
The dealership is designed to reflect the classic atmosphere of the brand, with three libraries, all with Italian leather seating, and vintage Ferrari books to leaf through.
There’s also a customization room, where clients can choose every detail of their vehicle — from stitching to paint — and test out seats to see which one suits them.
The dealership is part of parent company Dream Motor Group, and has the same ownership of Mercedes Benz of Music City, split between Dream Motor CEO Joe Agresti and Saban. Dream Motor also owns Mercedes dealerships in Irondale and Hoover, Louisiana and Texas, and a Hoover Infiniti dealership.
Earlier this month, The Alamite, a 112-room Tuscaloosa boutique hotel, backed in part by Saban, opened on Sixth Street.
Prancing Horse of Nashville had a soft opening this month.
“My favorite part of the whole deal is watching somebody’s dream come alive,” Miele said. “The customization is really my favorite part of it. The people that come in to buy a Ferrari, they can pretty much get anything that they want. To see the excitement, the little kid come out of everyone, is my favorite part of it.”
