Minnesota’s first Ferrari dealership opening in Twin Cities this month – Bring Me The News

Carousel Motor Group

Minnesota is getting its first Ferrari dealership.

The Pohlad family’s Carousel Motor Group is opening a dealership for the luxury sportscar brand in Golden Valley sometime this month, a news release says. The new Twin Cities Performance dealership is one of 45 Ferrari dealerships in the United States, with the next closest being in Chicago.

“We are both proud and humbled, as a family-owned Minnesota-based business, to represent the iconic Ferrari brand in Minneapolis. Both existing and future Ferrari customers can rest assured they will get the very best levels of customer service they may already have become accustomed to in purchasing and servicing their vehicles across our other dealerships,” Chase Hawkins, president and CEO at Carousel Motor Group (CMG), said in a statement.

The dealership, which will sell new and pre-owned Ferraris, is a renovated 15,500-square-foot facility at 9191 Wayzata Blvd., which previously served as CMG’s Porsche dealership until it moved to a larger spot. It will offer an “immersive customer experience” with “state-of-the-art amenities,” such as a 12-foot by 18-foot digital display wall, atelier design studio and customer lounge. There will be a 2,500-square-foot “experiential showroom” that will feature the latest models, as well as a 5,700-square-foot service center that is equipped with five service bays for the Twin Cities’ only Ferrari-authorized technicians.

The Italian luxury sportscars go for between $200,000 and $625,000 each, but some cost even more, Car and Driver says. Wayne Pisinski, CMG’s vice president of fixed operations, told the Golden Valley City Council in April that they only expect to sell about four vehicles per month and service about the same number, according to the Sun Post.

An exact opening date hasn’t been released. Hawkins told the Star Tribune they’re working on some IT issues with Ferrari but could open as soon as late next week.

With CMG opening a Ferrari dealership, it now has several luxury car dealerships in its portfolio. The motor group owns eight dealerships in the Twin Cities, including Coon Rapids Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Audi Minneapolis, Audi St. Paul, BMW of Minnetonka, Chevrolet North Branch, Porsche of St. Paul, and Porsche of Minneapolis.

In addition to owning Carousel Motor Group, the Pohlad family owns the Minnesota Twins, United Properties and NorthMarq.
